Mechanical Pencils By Bic

Are Bic mechanical pencils good?

Finding the perfect pencil is no easy task. It involves time and energy, and even money that you might not want to go out and blow. That’s why we wanted to take a moment to review the top BIC pen and mechanical pencil, and hopefully we can assist fellow writers in their quest for the perfect writing instrument.

BIC 10km Series

bic mechanical pencilsThe BIC mechanical pencil has a transparent body and is designed to be refilled, however many people think these pencils are best used as disposable pens. We might disagree, but either way you like them, whether you choose to refill them or not, is ultimately up to you.

The design is hexagonal at the top, and has a black front round cover that leads into a short sleeve. The marketing group must have thought it best to advertise this mechanical pencil as a ‘number 2’ as that’s what’s conveniently printed on the side of the body. The only real difference between this mechanical pencil and traditional pencils is the body is made of plastic instead of wood.

Another common feature of the mechanical BIC pencil is the plastic pocket attachment. This is one of the more disappointing features given that it almost certainly breaks within a few days of opening the package.

That leads us to our second complaint about the BIC mechanical pencil—the eraser. In fact, we’re not even sure that’s what it was designed for, it’s that bad. The eraser might make it through one or two swipes of the paper, but that’s it. Keep an extra eraser nearby for added protection.

As the #1 bestselling mechanical pencil in the US, this affordable replacement for the traditional number 2 will work for writing novels or just doing homework. It’s comfortable to the grip and offers flexibility regardless of your needs. Check it out if you’re in the market for a new pencil.
